Hilton Banks, Oldfield Road, Hampton – Case Study
The Domino Effect
When a company is commissioned to undertake a task and performs exceptionally well, there is often a domino effect which leads to new relationships and additional business. As a commercial property consultancy, for Bonsors these ongoing relationships are often reignited years later when a commercial building once again returns to the market. One such case is that of Hilton Banks, with a partnership that has thus far extended over 20 years.
2003
Bonsors sold a site at Burhill Road in Hersham, Surrey, on behalf of Hilton Banks Ltd, a well-known highly successful local business which supplies adhesive and sealant products to builders and decorators merchants, DIY and hardware stores, garden centres, the healthcare sector, and leisure facilities. The Burhill Road site was acquired by housebuilder Bewley Homes and was redeveloped for 23 new homes.
However, Hilton Banks needed new premises from which to operate, and Bonsors acquired 74 Oldfield Road in Hampton as the company’s new headquarters in late 2003 (left: the property in 2003). Hilton Banks has operated at the location for around 20 years.
2024
The leadership team at Hilton Banks made the decision to relocate to meet current business objectives and once again, turned to Bonsors for help to market the freehold interest in the building at Oldfield Road, Hampton.
The property occupies a prime site on the north side of Oldfield Road close to its junction with Percy Road. Situated alongside a Waitrose supermarket and Hampton railway station, its location was a huge attraction for potential buyers. The site is well connected by the road network with Junction 1 of the M3 at Sunbury Cross approximately two miles to the west. In addition, Heathrow airport is approximately 5 miles to the north.

74 Oldfield Road, Hampton is a self-contained warehouse unit (below in 2024) within a secure yard with 30 parking spaces and incorporating air conditioning in the offices as well as excellent staff amenities. PV panels on the roof provide cost efficient energy and help companies deliver on environmental responsibilities. Little wonder, the property was in high demand.
As a result of its efforts, Bonsors secured a buyer achieving around five times the original purchase price of the premises in 2003. Hilton Banks has moved to Unit 9 Maple Grove Business Park, Lawrence Road, Hounslow.
Bonsors is delighted to have played such a vital role in enabling Hilton Banks to move onto the next stage in its journey (the company was first formed in 1850).
Staying connected
Bonsors managing director Andrew Pollard said: “Our business philosophy is to provide an outstanding service whilst benefiting our clients with our extensive local knowledge. We have several examples amongst our client list where we have bought and sold premises on their behalf over several years. Whilst those transactions could well be several years apart, such as in the case of Hilton Banks, it is a reflection of our professionalism and commitment to meeting our client’s needs that businesses seek out our services so many years down the line.”
